Artist, Fine Art Specialist, busy mom and home decorating diva Kim Counts drops by once a week to share art facts, decor tips and more.
O.k., I'll admit it -- there's another man in my life, other than my husband. I've loved him for years. He's tall, dark and handsome, mysterious and courageous, debonair and devil-may-care...and goes by the name of Bond, James Bond, that is.
You saw that one coming, didn't you? Well what can I say? I was practically raised on the Bond films as a kid. My mom was absolutely crazy about Sean Connery when I was growing up, and the t.v. movies were always cause for us to share a great big greasy bowl of popcorn.
So naturally I was delighted to hear the news that there's a new James Bond novel just out. Had you heard? Apparently the book was published to mark the centenary of 007 creator Ian Fleming's birth. Check out this BBC newsclip for more info.
Ian Fleming's well worth celebrating in my book. In fact, here's a little-known secret of mine: the author is actually one of the Ians that inspired my own son's name (and he's turned out to be quite the dashing little guy). I even played the "Tomorrow Never Dies" video game while I was pregnant with him. So, yeah, you could say I'm a dyed-in-the-wool fan.
In honor of Ian Fleming and all the James Bonds in movie history, I'm dedicating today's entry to 007. The images in this posting are all James Bond Framed PosterZ, which are framed movie posters that are finished with a really next, textured glaze. The coating makes them pretty darn durable and intrepid. Fitting, wouldn't you say? Each one is under $50, so they're really affordable.
You can also get these Bond images as posters or custom-framed prints, so be sure to play around with your options in our online frame shop, if you're so inclined.
Well, all this talk has me in the mood for a good James Bond movie? You in? Farewell until next week from the Decorator, Savvy Decorator...
