Image Details:

"Lilium Japonicum"--from "A Selection of Hexandrian Plants, belonging to the natural orders Amaryllidae and Liliacae" (London, 1831-34). With this work (which attracted 79 subscribers, including John James Audubon), Mrs. Bury (ca. 1800-late 1860s) endeavored "to preserve some memorial of the brilliant and fugitive beauties, of a particularly splendid and elegant tribe of plants." Her lovely drawings of amaryllis and lilies were engraved by the gifted English-born American landscape painter and printmaker Robert Havell, Jr., who also worked on Audubon's "Birds of America."

About Giclee Canvas:

To produce a giclee work, the images are digitally captured and printed directly onto artist-grade canvas using highly sophisticated inkjet printers and archival-quality ink. These fade-resistant, collector-quality works of art can retain their color and detail for over 100 years.
