Image Details:

A photograph of the interior of the original Pennsylvania Station taken in the early morning, July 14, 1936--from Abbott's Changing New York project (1935-38), which sought to document the rapidly changing built environment of "the world's greatest metropolis." Changing New York was supported by the Federal Art Project (FAP) of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The old Penn Station was demolished in 1962.
